Dani Woodson is an actor/writer from Philadelphia. She fell in love with the Performing Arts early in life while attending Philadelphia's renowned Freedom Theater and soon afterwards Philadelphia's High School for Creative and Performing Arts. While at CAPA she was trained in the Meisner technique.
After high school Dani went to Pace University in New York City where she earned her BA in Communication Studies; yet she continued to develop her craft by taking numerous classes in improvisation, acting on TV/film, scene study and more. She also, landed her first national print ad for Dr. Miracle’s hair products.
Since moving to LA, Dani has appeared on stage, film, and television. Her credits include a reoccurring role on FX's Snowfall, a supporting role in the movie Divos! (which can now be viewed on Amazon and iTunes), as well as a Sam Adams commercial that is currently running.
It didn't take long for Dani to realize that not only did she want to perform, she wanted to create her own work as well. As Maya Angelou said, "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." So Dani has also begun writing and producing her own content. She is the co-founder of an all-female sketch group the Sissy Space Cats. She was recently granted a fiscal sponsorship for her short film Love & Hair, and she's currently developing two television shows. The first show is an animated children's series. The second show is a 60 minute dark comedy. Dani has also begun to explore the world of storytelling. She has performed her stories at several events including the Crxeativity Festival and Frank! Honest Stories.
Dani's goal is to perform in, write, and produce art that inspires empathy. She understands that art can change hearts, which will in turn change the world.
